Assistant Project Manager
Airport(s): Port Columbus Airport, Rickenbacker, Bolton Field,
Location: Port Columbus International Airport
Hours: Monday - Friday 8 A.M. - 5 P.M.
Supervisor: Project Manager
Salary: $57,159 - $94,310

Description:
The Columbus Regional Airport Authority is seeking an Assistant Project Manager that will be responsible for the management of the Capital Program Integrated Project Controls System for the Planning & Construction Administration Division. Key components of this system are Primavera P6 Cost and Schedule Management® and Primavera Contract Manager®, supplemented by other systems as required. The position utilizes these quantitative tools to plan, track, and report the status of complex construction projects and the overall capital improvement program. The Authority will sponsor the successful candidate for appropriate software training. The successful candidate will be energetic and eager to learn new skills. This role is positioned for internal growth opportunities.

No relocation reimbursement available.

Education/Certification:
Bachelor’s degree in construction management, construction science, civil engineering, architecture, project management, or related field is required, or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Must possess and maintain a valid driver license, in good standing, if job assignment includes driving requirements.

Qualifications:
Required
• A minimum of 5 years experience working with project management software such as Microsoft Project ® or Primavera®.
• Must have commercial construction work experience.
• Developing, reading or modifying construction or project schedules.
• Working with a variety of project hierarchies, including projects, programs and portfolios.
• Integrating P6 with other software (i.e. accounting/finance software).

Preferred
• Primavera® web application.
• Reporting project performance. Examples include dashboard reporting, financial and schedule forecasting, or Earned Value Management (EVM).


Required Knowledge:
Knowledge of construction techniques and construction contracts.
Knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM) scheduling.
Knowledge of construction estimating and budgeting .
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite.


Skills/Abilities:
Ability to establish effective working relationships.
Ability to assemble and analyze statistical data.
Ability to interact with the general public and deal effectively with contractors and consultants.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Required to have regular and predictable attendance.


PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Finger dexterity
Using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers together.
May be required to walk across uneven ground in constructions sites, possibly among heavy equipment.
May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hat or safety shoes/boots.

Repetitive motions
Movements frequently and regularly required using the wrists, hands, and/or fingers.

Talking
Especially where one must frequently convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quickly.

Average visual abilities
Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.

Average hearing
Ability to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary information.

Physical strength
Sedentary work; sitting most of the time. Exerts up to 10 lbs. of force occasionally.
May be required to walk across uneven ground in constructions sites.
May be required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as hard hat or safety shoes/boots.


MENTAL ACTIVITIES AND REQUIREMENTS OF THIS POSITION
Reasoning Ability
Ability to apply logical or scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions.
Ability to interpret a variety of technical instructions and can deal with multiple variables.

Mathematics Ability
Ability to use advanced algebra, exponents, logarithms, linear equations, quadratic equations, mathematical induction and binomial theorem, permutations, calculus, and/or analytic geometry.
Ability to perform basic statistical calculations including frequency distributions, reliability and validity of tests, normal curve, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, chi-square application and sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Language Ability
Ability to read a variety of books, magazines, instruction manuals, atlases, and encyclopedias.
Ability to prepare memos, reports, and essays using proper punctuation, spelling, and grammar.
Ability to communicate distinctly with appropriate pauses and emphasis; correct pronunciation (or sign equivalent); and variation in word order using present, perfect, and future tenses.
